Meet the Architect
Thomas C. Terry
Head Architect
Tom received his bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Ohio State University in 1984. He studied alongside several Frank Lloyd Wright Apprentices, and eventually serviced his own four year apprenticeship under the former chairman of the Arizona Technical Board of Architects and Engineers. Tom has been practicing architecture for nearly 39 years in the Prescott area which has challenged him to master designing projects to capture the beautiful views, steep hills, winding driveways and narrow building envelopes. His portfolio includes an extensive number of spectacular homes, perfectly placed in these elaborate landscapes. Tom has designed homes in various locations throughout our beautiful country, including Southern and Northern California, Colorado, Oregon, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio, Utah, and other areas of Arizona.
What To Expect
Our goal is to make this process as smooth and enjoyable as possible. The following steps briefly describe the architecutal design process from start to finish.
Step 1
The client meets the architect on their lot, in our offices, via zoom meeting or telphone conference. Architect goes over his design checklist with the client to discover their home design preferences.
Step 2
The architect hand draws a schematic design based on the client's aspirations, keeping communication fluid until the home design is achieved.
Step 3
Preliminary and Final phases then take place. This includes all construction plans, HOA submissions and approvals, and all the engineering. The design plan is then prepared for submission to the prospective building department.
Step 4
Once the plans are completed, they are submitted to the building department for permitting. Once the permit is acquired, the construction of the client’s Distinctive Home is then executed through the collaboration of experienced contractors, ultimately resulting in the realization of the client’s vision.
